GAC Philippines has officially introduced the all-new AION UT, a fully electric hatchback that combines modern styling, advanced technology, and practical everyday usability in a compact package designed for urban driving.

Already gaining popularity in markets such as Thailand, Australia, Europe, and Latin America, the AION UT now arrives in the Philippines as GAC expands its electric vehicle lineup. Despite its compact dimensions, the EV hatchback was developed on a dedicated electric vehicle platform and offers one of the roomiest cabins in its class.

A key highlight is its 2,750mm wheelbase, which provides a generous 905mm of rear legroom, giving passengers space typically found in larger vehicles. The cabin also features 24 storage compartments and a flexible 440-liter cargo area, making it well-suited for daily commutes and weekend trips.

"We are thrilled to bring another global hit from GAC's line of innovations to the Philippines through the AION UT," said Steven Wang, Senior Vice President of GAC International. "We are confident that the AION UT will bolster dynamic, safe, and sustainable driving for Filipinos."

The AION UT also places a strong emphasis on safety. It comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and a 360-degree camera system. Additional safety features include large side curtain airbags and a Reverse Mis-Acceleration Mitigation system designed to help prevent unintended acceleration incidents.

Powering the Philippine-spec AION UT Elite is a 100 kW (136 PS) Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 145 Nm of torque. The vehicle uses GAC's 47.1 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Magazine Battery, which supports DC fast charging and can recharge from 30% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.

Inside, drivers are greeted by an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The AION UT also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing the battery to power external electronic devices when needed.

The AION UT Elite rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and is available in Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, and a two-tone Rococo White and Emerald Green finish.

GAC Philippines is offering the AION UT Elite at an introductory price of ₱998,000, down from its standard retail price of ₱1,068,000. The introductory discount of ₱50,000 is valid until June 30, 2026, while an additional ₱20,000 discount is available for the first 400 units sold.

Customers may now reserve the AION UT at GAC dealerships nationwide. Ownership is backed by an 8-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 200,000 km warranty for the core three-electric system, and two years of free roadside assistance, providing added confidence for those making the switch to electric mobility.
